Useful Considerations On TV Power Supply

by Ryan Sullivan

There are a number of reasons why you might want to do a repair. One of it is that your television may be powering off on its own or it may take a long duration to get reception as soon as it is turned on. Lucky enough, this kind of issue can be solved by TV power supply repair. Before beginning, below are some of the crucial steps you need to look into.

You will need different tools to help you realize the task easily and quickly. Check if a capacitor, screwdriver, soldering iron, solder sucker, and solder are in your toolbox. If you do not have one, go to an electronics store to buy what you do not have. Use them to open the device and determine what is causing the issue. In most cases, the capacitors are the fault, and if they have leaked, the screen will not be powered.

Remove the device from its powering source and place it on a working area that is flat ensuring that the screen faces down to minimize damage. All of the bolts should then be loosened by use of a screwdriver to remove the back panel. Once they are loosened, separate the back panel from the main unit by wiggling it and safely keep it aside.

The next step is to locate where the circuit board is by following the board that the power cord is linked to. Disconnect the screws and connectors by using a screwdriver from the board. Ensure you note where they all came from as you will have to reattach them as they were. It is imperative you take pictures so that you do not get confused during reattaching. After the connectors and screws are unattached, remove the circuit board.

Check to see the capacitors that are malfunctioning. Capacitors assume the shape of tiny cylinders and only vary in their length and width. Since most of them may appear normal, search for those that have bulged at the surface or are removing a brownish to yellowish liquid on the surface. This means that they have been overheated leading to the problem you are facing. Make sure that no damage is done to copper pads when removing them.

After all of the bad ones have been gotten rid of, replacement with new ones ought to be done. Make sure you note the positive and negative polarity while doing the replacement. Mark negative leads using a soldering iron on the board. The negative side normally has a stripe colored in gray. The capacitors need to be correctly installed since they are polarity complex.

Reassemble the device and the check power. After replacing connectors, back panel and screws, confirm whether the issue has been resolved. A power surge probably may have caused the fuse to blow. If the problem is not yet resolved, test the fuse. You will have to look for the appropriate fuse and replace it with the old one.

Once the fuse has been changed, and the problem has not been fixed, it may be time to substitute the circuit board. This is because if it has any faults, your television may not work properly. However, this process is crucial, and you should know the necessary steps you ought to follow.
