by Tara Webb

Col3neg is a site on the internet that allows its users to share files. Most of the content Kaydence to Sri Lankan viewers. The content shared on the website ranges from television contents to film stuff video to news etc

This content is shared for free and users are responsible for the creation and distribution of the content. There are often problems with content that is shared for free by users. A lot of the time the content that is being shared often has copyrights that are being infringed upon. It is always advisable to make sure that you are not infringing upon any copyrights when you engage in the process of sharing content online.

Another term for the sharing is peer-to-peer file sharing. Owners of these copyrights have targeted file sharers through lawsuits. It is important to be aware of current law when sharing files online. Criminal cases have been brought against companies that host these files and people that share the files alike. In some cases large fines have been imposed against the violators.

There are varying laws depending on the country where the content is being shared. It is important that users take note of existing laws in the country in which they plan to share content. Lawsuits are often brought either by the government or by owners of content. This can depend on how much abuse is going on.

Sometimes these lawsuits are brought with the specific intent of deterring other users from similar behavior. There have been some successful filings and there have been instances where sites have been closed down. On occasion criminal cases have also been pursued against their owners.

The content industry is instituted some policies to help deter violators. Some of these policies can be very strict and can result in severe action being taken. The content industry receives support and assistance from very powerful partners in order to make this happen. Content companies have enlisted the help of internet service providers to shut down internet access to abuses who repeatedly violate content regulations. The graduated response system is one such punitive measure. A repeated violator can risk losing access to the internet. This action is possible through collaboration between internet service providers and the content industry.

Some problems have arisen as a result of such collaborations. One particular content company illegally used his collaboration to compile user information. On this particular occasion the dutch authorities quickly instituted corrective measures.

Nevertheless this issue is still a serious and legitimate problem for content providers. Spain is thought to have the most incidences of abuse. In this country it was found over 12 months that over 2.4 billion downloads of illegal content occurred. Statistics have indicated that over 30% of the country's population engages in this conduct.

Col3neg content is can be shared and viewed with minimal effort on of the users . In many cases sites do not very much control over the content uploaded by their users. There needs to be better controls in place at these companies and on these websites to avoid unnecessarily expensive action being brought against them. On many an occasion the companies are created as a legitimate service and are law abiding but end up in trouble as a result of abuse by their users.
