USB 3.0 Cable Defined

by Theodore Snalilial

USB or universal serial bus is the term used to refer to the cables, connectors and communications protocols utilized in a bus for connection, communication and power supply between computers and electronic devices. This invention has been created in the 1990s and since then has been very useful and helpful in so many ways.

The USB is popularly seen as a connector for keyboards, mouse, digital cameras, printers, portable media devices, disc drivers to the computer so that there would be communication between the two and electricity would also be supplied.

Since the time that the universal serial bus was made, it has already gone through a lot of improvements and the latest of which is the USB 3.0. This USB 3.0 cable or connector is known as the Super Speed USB due to its fast speed of 5Gbps or 625MB/sec which is far better than the USB 2.0's speed of 450Mbps. Aside from the speed, the USB 30 cable also allows up to 80% higher power consumption for devices. Additionally, it includes an enhanced version of the USB-B connector called Powered-B, which allows USB accessories to seep electricity from other devices and hosts from about 100miliamps to 900 milliamps.

This has become possible with the abandonment of device polling in favour of a new interrupt-driven protocol which means that non-active or idle devices won't have their power drained by the host controller as it searches for active data traffic. As a substitute, the devices will bring a signal to the host so that data transfer can be started. This quality will also be backward compatible with USB 2.0 certified gadgets. Plus, the SuperSpeed USB includes a well-known process of host-to-host communication through a crossover USB A to USB A cable. What's even better with this USB 30 cable is that it is on-the-go, which means it allows portable devices to act as a USB device or a USB host, thus increasing their feature set and usability with existing USB devices. USB 3.0 cable can do this because it has two lanes in which one is meant for transmission of data and the other for receiving data.

These are all the amazing qualities of the USB 30 cable that are yours to experience when you get your own USB 30 cable. Also, your computer or electronic device can also enjoy this with the use of the USB 30 extension cable.
