by David Peters

Adobe Elements makes it easy to make stylish, professional looking projects to showcase your photos. Select from the preset themes and layouts or make your own designs from scratch as you put together a variety of creations from greeting cards and Photograph Books to animated slide shows and internet based albums.

Use your own pictures in customized DVD or CD jackets and labels, calendars, collages, and digital flip books. Combine images, txt, animation and also music and narration, to produce unique multimedia creations.

Whether you are designing your own coffee table book, sharing your pictures on the internet, or creating customized gifts for family and friends, Elements will help unleash your creativity. You can familiarize yourself with the Create mode by stepping you through a few basic strategies and sample projects:

* Using artwork from the Content library * Creating a personalized greeting card * Working with layers, layer designs, and effects * Telling a story with the awesome Photo Book * Fitting text to a project

Elements offers a huge library of design themes, layout design templates, and clip graphics that make it simple to create eye-catching projects using your own pictures. Show loved ones how much you care with attractive personalized greeting cards; preserve and share your precious memories in a classy Photo Book or mix photographs and souvenirs to tell an evocative story in an artistic Photo Collage.

Thus let's finish of today's Adobe Elements lesson, and start to create our first project. Before you begin working on this lesson, make sure that you have installed the software on your PC from the application CD.

1. Start Adobe Elements and click on Organize in the Welcome Screen. If the Backup/Synchronization dialog box appears, click Remind Me Later.

2. Check the name of the active catalog in the lower left corner of Organizer window. If your CIB Catalog is already loaded, you may skip step to step three. If another catalog is currently loaded, select File - Catalog, select your CIB Catalog in the Catalogs list, and then click on Open.

3. Choose File - Get Photos And Video - From Files And Folders. In the Get Photos And Videos From Files And Folders dialog box, find and choose your folder. Disable the option Get Photos From Sub-folders and all the automatic processing options; then, click on Get Media.

4. In the Import Attached Keyword Tags dialog box, choose your keyword, and then click OK. Click OK to close other alert dialog box.

How do you start a new project like a greeting card or Photo Book?

To make a project, select a project option on the Create tab in the Panel Bin by clicking among the project buttons or selecting from the More Options menu. The Create tab presents page previews and navigation controls, and offers access to layout templates, wallpapers, frames, graphics and effects.
