Finally The Good Stuff - Pc Tools Antivirus Software Review

by Hannah Thompson

I was constantly running various security products & always trying to avoid interfering with the main security app. This is a true "set it & forget it" solution.

So far, after 2 installs it seems to be working okay. I really like this product over the "other one" out there it let viruses in my wife's computer and good value when you buy the 3 install version.

Norton's Internet Security is faster, safer, and lighter than in previous editions, making it very useful for XP users. With this newest version there is a Reputation Service.

In 2 years running Norton on 3 computers, I've never had a virus. It's basically the same "engine" and I have it installed on a 4th computer and it does the same good job as this package. But their best efforts went to naught and the only solution is to get me the windows discs so we can reinstall the OS. Using on a Laptop with an AMD Dual core 2.20ghz processor, 8gb ram, and windows 7 64bit. I bought this to replace Kaspersky.

Whenever your computer is idle a scan runs. Malwarebytes' Anti-malware works well with NIS. I haven't experienced any conflicts, nor have I been virally infected either. I have to run it manually from the NIS screen and it will check, download and then fail to complete when processing updates. Clicking on the link they provide shows an estimated time of up to 11 hours to download.

I shared it with a friend, and we both love how it seems to run smoothly and catches everything. No more of that tiresome warning you get every time you install something, when you know for a fact, it's from a legitimate source. I couldn't believe how pain free this thing was. My computer was hacked. I don't know how he got through the fire wall on my router and then the Norton firewall but he did. This is going to take some time and perhaps more resources, but definitely enhances security. As in previous versions, the Firefox and IE companion generates a browser toolbar which prompts sites of potential danger (phasing sites). I had Norton when I had Comcast and it really worked well so after going to another company, I wanted Norton. I left a feedback on this when I received it.

I am a big Norton fan. Unfortunately, this particular one I already had installed and thought I was ordering the 2012 software.
